Solar for load-shedding: keeping the lights on

When the grid goes down, a hybrid inverter with battery backup switches over in milliseconds — your essentials never blink.

Start with your must-haves

Decide what truly must stay on during an outage: lights, internet, phones, the fridge. Backing up only essentials keeps the system affordable and the battery lasting longer.

Size for the outage length

Estimate the watt-hours your essentials use over a typical outage. A 5 kWh lithium battery comfortably runs lights, Wi-Fi and a fridge for several hours. Add solar panels and the battery recharges by day, so repeated outages don't catch you out.

Grid-tie, hybrid or off-grid?

For most Kenyan homes a hybrid inverter is the sweet spot: it uses solar and battery first, falls back to the grid, and provides instant backup. Our team can recommend the exact configuration for your site.
